GILSEY HOUSE APARTMENT
An apartment renovation in the NoMad district of Manhattan.
What A View
Spanning two floors of the historic Gilsey House in NoMad, the renovation of this existing apartment aims to create a permanent home for a wife and husband and their two daughters. Our aim is keeping the first floor as open as possible and accentuating the double height of the living room by making a larger cut-out in the second floor. The new staircase becomes a sculptural element tying the two floors together, while allowing for two-story views north towards the Empire State Building.
This project was put on hold after the DD phase was complete.
